Tourist Visa

If you are planning to visit the tourist areas of Sanmra for less than 30 days, then you should seek a tourist visa. A tourist visa lasts for 30 days from your entry into Sanmra and is valid for twenty kilometers inland from the coast, and in the Orsili and Elten districts. Applying for a limited tourist visa is easy and can be done through an online application here online, or through an application form mailed to any Sanmra embassy or consulate. (Form SN-192B Application For Temporary Entry (Tourist))

Visitors on tourist visas cannot work or buy/own property in Sanmra. If they leave the country for more than 3 days, they must re-apply for a new visa before re-entering the country. Extensions are generally only granted for medical emergencies, and Form ST-097 Petition for Unsponsored Extension and Form ST-113 Notice of Visaholder Medical Emergency must be submitted as soon as the visaholder is physically able.

Please note: a tourist visa CANNOT be converted to a sponsored visa. To apply for a sponsored visa, a visitor must exit the country before applying for a sponsored visa.

Unsponsored Visa

If you are planning to travel throughout Sanmra for less than 30 days, then an unsponsored visa may be right for you. A standard unsponsored visa is valid for 30 days and allows a visitor to travel to any part of Sanmra without restriction. The application forms for unsponsored visas (Form SN-192 Application For Temporary Entry) must be submitted in person at any Sanmra embassy or consulate--they cannot be submitted online, emailed, or faxed. Fingerprints and a background check will be carried out before an approval decision is made.

Visitors on unsponsored visas cannot work or buy/own property in Sanmra. If they leave the country for more than 3 days, they must re-apply for a new visa before re-entering the country.

Standard unsponsored visas can be converted to sponsored visas while still in the country. The application form for converting a visa (Form SR-048 Petition for Visa Conversion) can be submitted in-person or mailed to the Bureau of Immigration. Extensions are generally only granted for medical emergencies, and Form ST-097 Petition for Unsponsored Extension and Form ST-113 Notice of Visaholder Medical Emergency must be submitted as soon as the visaholder is physically able.

Sponsored Visa

If you are planning to travel to Sanmra for more than 30 days, or if you intend to enter the country for work, a sponsored visa is the correct visa to apply for. On such a visa, there are no restrictions on where in Sanmra that you can travel and there are no restrictions on the length of time a sponsored visaholder may stay in the country, as long as they renew their visa annually. Form SN-004 Application for Standard Visa must be submitted in-person to any Sanmra embassy or consulate, along with a Form SR-77 Notice of Intent of Sponsorship signed by the intended sponsor or their legal representative.

Any legal entity in Sanmra can be a sponsor, including an individual Sanmra citizen, a legally-recognized Sanmra family, or a Sanmra-based business owned by a Sanmra citizen. Any individual currently on a visa themselves (including permanent residents who are not citizens) are not eligible to serve as a sponsor to someone else.

Sponsored visas must be renewed annually, and can be done so online or by mailing a form and the renewal fee to the Bureau of Immigration. (Form ST-060 Notice of Visa Renewal) To renew a visa, a visaholder must be currently residing in Sanmra and be prepared to provide proof of residence--renewal cannot be done internationally. If a visaholder needs to leave the country for more than 90 days, they must submit Form ST-112 Notice of Temporary Egress to the Bureau of Immigration.

After two years, a holder of a sponsored visa can apply for Legal Permanent Resident status.
